How do I get started?

There is (literally) no ‘one size fits all’ way of estimating your requirements exactly, but we are always happy to answer any questions you have.

Nevertheless, do keep in mind, there is no substitute for seeing the space for yourself. Give us a call on 01491 693300 (office hours) and we can advise you accordingly. If you feel you already know how much space you need, simply fill in the quotation request and we’ll get back to you with a price!

How is unit size calculated?

Every storage unit is 8ft (2.4m) high (minimum). As a guide, this is generally enough height to accommodate a decent-sized sofa (on its end). In terms of floor area, a 50ft2 (15.2m2) unit is based on a 10ft x 5ft (3.05m x 1.5m) footprint; a 25ft2 unit is approximately 6ft x 4ft (1.8m x 1.2m), etc...

If, for any reason, you are unsure about being able to fit your items into a unit, please inspect and satisfy yourself with the units suitability for your needs. Our units come in many different shapes and sizes.

A rule-of-thumb guide to space

If you ask how big our units are ‘in the real world’ we’ll happily tell you what we know, but you can’t hold us to it! Like we say, it’s not an exact science; we can only advise and we have two top tips: come and see us before you pack up and… be ruthless, when you do! But just to get you going these may help:

25ft² – a decent garden shed
50ft² – a long-wheel base Transit van
75ft² – a two or three-bedroom house
100ft² – a three-bedroom house
150ft² – a four-bedroom house

What about insurance?

We provide an easy to understand sliding scale to assist you in choosing the best insurance value for your goods.

Whilst it is not mandatory to take our insurance you will be required to have insurance in place and supply a copy of the relevant policy you have for your goods. Unfortunately in the event that you do not supply a copy of a valid insurance policy we will have no alternative but to cancel your storage with us.

What if I need more/less space after moving in?

Should you need to upsize or downsize, simply let us know. Your account is automatically adjusted on the day you take up the new space. You keep the same fob, lock and key you had from the start; it’s as simple as that! We can move your items for you, but this is at your own risk. We accept no responsibility for damages.

Your first day

We want to get your Henley experience off to a great start. Once you’re ready to move in, you can do so during Reception opening hours. Once you are a storage customer, have your keys and fob you can access your storage during storage access opening hours. If you are unsure of opening hours, call us on 01491 693300.

How do I pay?

All customers are required to set up a GoCardless Direct Debit account to pay for their storage space. It’s super easy, your bank details are protected, and the system automatically keeps a record of all payments. Adjusting payments if you need to change units is equally easy and, at the end of your agreement, two clicks are all it takes to reconcile your account.

Is there anything we aren’t allowed to store?

The general principle is: let common sense be your guide. Flammable liquids and gases are prohibited, as are solvents. Stuff that decomposes naturally is out. So is anything that can move on its own (including people). In case of doubt, please ask and/or check the prohibited items listed on your terms & conditions.
